Continuing to shine the light from His Word
We are a Bible believing church standing on…..
The King James Bible translators who had assembled under the reign of King James Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will, at the time when the English language was at its peak, Westminster, Oxford and Cambridge, linguists were gathered for the one purpose of having the Bible written in the common languge.
The Bible was known as the King james Bible, but later was known as the authorised version of av1611. The authorisation was given by Gods people who reconised it spiritual authorisation.
Please note: When reading this artical keep in mind that the texsus receptis, or received text was a complted work resulting from the above work. Ther had not been a complete New testamnet in Greek until around 1631.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
So how then do I know Gods stamp of apporoval? The best way is to likened this as with a counterfeit bank notes, they may all look the real deal, have the right words written on them such as Bible, and have the support of those that printed them such as religious organisations and persons. There is one thing that should make them genuine that is missing such as what is called a hall mark, or water mark, or an official mark or stamp that can’t be copied which makes the article genuine. As with the King James Bible, there is a hall mark or a thread that runs from the beginning of the article to the end which cant be broken. ( There are three threads which we will look at below )
Three things to consider.
The Spoken word
If you have studied Religion, the majority of religions have adopted their scriptures from their founders or leaders. Those leaders all have one thing in common and that is they wrote their own creed according to either their visions or their interpretation and laws in-which many cases has become that religions creed. But when you compare that to Jesus Christ, who did not come to write anything but had been sent to fulfil that which had already been written in this case the prophecies of the Old Testament.
There is little dispute about the Old Testament which was written largely in Hebrew and had been kept by the Levitical Priest hood. The Old Testament is also a complete and accurate account of the Nation Israel. ( A good source on this subject is Robert Dick Wilson who was an American linguist and Presbyterian scholar who devoted his life to prove reliability of the Hebrew Bible.)
When Jesus began his earthly ministry it was with these words when he said to those in his own synagogue of Nazareth, as his custom was to read the scripture on the sabbath day, Luke 4:16-21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. ( Read the account). Jesus read from Isaiah 61:1-4 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God.
The first advent, Jesus Christ revealed a valuable lesson that the New Testament was concealed in the Old Testament.
As seen with the disciples Luke 18:31-34 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken. (The Disciples were following Jesus concerning the Prophecy of the Messiah to restore the Kingdom to Israel, they weren’t looking at him as the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. ( That was hid from them, the redemptive work of the cross.)
After the Resurrection the third time Jesus appeared to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus when he opened up the scriptures once again revealing from Moses that he had come to fulfil scripture. Luke 24:27 Beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scripture the things concerning himself.
There is a thread that binds the Old Testament and the New Testament is there fulfilment of scripture, which is Jesus Christ himself. In Matthew 26:53-54 when Jesus said how shall then the scripture be fulfilled, that thus it must be? The fulfilment of scripture is the fulfilment of the spoken word. Words become before writing them, called script. A child can speak words but is not able to write them. The word must be crucial to the character of God who cannot lie, Jesus said about Satan John 8:42- 45…that he abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him, when he speaketh a lie, he speakers of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.
The first advent of Jesus Christ reveals the concealment of the New Testament in the Old Testament and the New Testament reveals the fulfilment of the Old Testament by the second advent of Jesus. Think of those two little words must be Matthew 26:53-54.
Hebrews 10;7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify
The Concealment of the New testamet in the Old
The importance of the words of Christ when he said he came to fulfil scripture, is significant to the fact that the New Testament had been concealed in the Old Testament and now is revealed. So the Old and New Testament can’t disagree with each other which is the case with the King James Bible. The New Testament reveals the Old Testament. God has never been about hiding his word, and the day of Pentecost reveals that God would have the Jews understand the wonderful works of God in the common they spoke Act 2. The intent of the King James Bible follows that line from Antioch.
At the time of Christ the common language was Greek from Alexander the Great, the Jews spoke Hebrew as of the Old Testament and Rome was in power. When the Bible was translated, the English language was at its height, it was then and is now the common language of the world. The time couldn’t have been better for theBible to be printed in English, as it was at the height.
However where scripture has been hidden began in Alexandria Egypt and the translators of the 1609 Douay-Rheims Bible and the 1752 Challoner’s revision of the Douay – Reheims are the Catholic translations which do not follow the pattern to put scripture into the common language. Instead they kept the scripture in Latin ( Rome ) and had no intention of putting the scripture into the common Language. Note: Catholicism will always take the scripture out of the hands of the common people in this case hide it so as to produce their own Bible such as the Catholic vulgate.
Scripture has always been recognised by its spiritual nature.
The Authorisation of the King James Bible was recognised by a spiritual witness by Gods people. Hence the name Authorised version of 1611. “av1611”.
King James was in the hand of God when he gave the authorisation for the assembly to translate the scriptures into English. This was seen also when Nehemiah was sent to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem under a Gentile King called Artaxerxes Nehemiah 2:1ff. Proverbs 21:1 The Kings heart is the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turned it whithersoever he will
Note: The apocrypha that had been placed between the Old and New Testament, later it was removed because it didn’t have the same spiritual nature or thread, that harmonised with the rest of scripture.
The Old Testament mentions other books that are not part of scripture, for example we know that the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Bible were written by Moses, but the oldest book known is the book of Job, it placement has not been put at the beginning of the Bible but between Esther and the book of Psalms. Because of where it has been placed in the Bible it harmonises with the rest of scripture in this way: Esther is a Jew marrying a Gentile a picture of the body of Christ, the church also known as the Bride of Christ. After Esther is followed by the 42 chapters of Job, the equivalent to the three and half years of Tribulation ( 42 Months), before Christ returns the second time (second advent), Job is followed by the book Psalms written largely by King David which is the Picture of the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ, King of King and Lord of Lords Revelation. This principle can be applied also to the other 65 Books of the Bible.
